SAP

The United States Department of Transportation regulations stipulate that an individual who works under these regulations, and tests positive on a drug test, must complete the SAP process. The process includes an 1-initial assessment, 2-referral to education and/or treatment, 3- return-to-duty assessment and 4-follow-up drug testing program.

Under the 49 CFR Part 40 regulations, no safety sensitive worker may return to safety sensitive functions until the successfully go through the SAP Return-to-Duty Process. Our experienced staff meet the criteria of Substance Abuse Professional.

The Houston Area Substance Abuse Program/North America Substance Abuse Program require that all contractors who have tested positive under the testing guidelines go through a process similar to the Dept. of Transportation SAP Return-to-Duty process. Our SAP staff work regularly with these testing guidelines.

1. Photo ID
2. Copy of letter notifying of positive drug test
3. Company Designated Employer Representative contact information (name, address, phone, fax)
4. Drug testing company/ Medical Review Officer contact information (name, address, phone, fax)
